Course Description

Do you want to make amazing things happen while discovering the power of presenting your ideas? During your week at Brown, you will learn presentation and communication skills, and will explore the themes of observation, persuasion, agility, and improvisation. You will also begin to hone your ability to be present to the challenge of creative work and working collaboratively with other people. The week will introduce you to fundamental methods for finding your voice, becoming aware of and controlling body-language and non-verbal communication, articulating and sharing your passion, witnessing and observing events around you, and holding space with others through collaborative process. Presence is something you can practice. During this week will help you take your first steps.

After spending your first week on Brown's campus you will head to Berklee College for the second and final week of the program, where you will be immersed in the startup and music mindset through daily seminars with world-renowned music professionals, innovators, and entrepreneurs. Along with a team of peers, you will be able to apply the skills learned here at Brown as you develop and pitch your final projects to a panel of top musicians, entrepreneurs, and community leaders.

First week at Brown University: July 7-13, 2019 (includes check-in and check-out dates)
Second week at Berklee College: July 13-19, 2019
