Dates and Fees

Fees are billed for each course the student is registered for. Each course fee is determined by course length. The student’s bill is determined by the number of courses taken and the overall duration of the student's residence on campus. Some courses may include a supplemental or materials fee. Please see course catalog for details.

Extra-curricular activities are open at no charge to all students, whether residing on or off campus.

Withdrawals & Refunds

Please visit the Refund Policies section of our Policies page for information regarding withdrawals and refunds.  Withdrawals must be submitted in writing to precollege@brown.edu.  Absence from the class/program does not constitute withdrawal.


International Student Fees

Student applicants are encouraged to review our Financial Policies. Please note that there is a $50 international processing fee and a $75 health insurance fee required for all non-credit international students. The international processing covers various costs associated with foreign delivery of completion materials, I-20 documents and refunds where applicable as well as other costs associated with foreign bank fees etc.

International students are considered non-United States citizens or permanent residents of the United States. United States citizens living abroad are not charged the processing fee nor the health insurance, unless insurance is requested.
