Biography

Melissa studied computer science and Chinese at Grinnell College before receiving her masters in business from Sage Graduate School. Melissa has been working in the field of higher education for over fifteen years in the areas of housing/residence life programs, Title IX and student conduct. Melissa has presented at dozens of conferences, and in recent years five initiatives that Melissa has designed or developed have received NASPA Excellence Awards for their contributions to the field. Melissa provides leadership and strategic management for the Pre-College Student Life team with the goal of fostering a welcoming, safe, and fun student life experience for all Pre-College and Sports Camp participants. Melissa’s professional interests include organizational psychology, strategic management, and utilizing critical perspectives to enhance leadership development/talent management. In her free time, Melissa enjoys spending time with her partner and three small children, reading and watching all the things that Netflix has to offer.
