Sharing Alumni Successes: Published For Nanotechnology Research

2024 Brown Pre-College student Yusuf Karimli is published for research with his Brown Pre-College instructor, Thomas Webster, on nanotechnology.

“ Brown’s Space Tourism Pre-College course opened a door for me into a world of engineering and space that I hadn’t imagined reaching so soon. The program challenged me, encouraged curiosity and made complex ideas feel approachable. I’m deeply grateful to Brown Pre-College for giving me both the confidence and the community that helped make this journey possible. ”

Brown Pre-College 2024 alum, Yusuf Karimli, was recently published for research with his Brown Pre-College instructor, Thomas Webster, on nanotechnology. Since attending Brown Pre-College and taking Webster's course, ‘Space Tourism: The Science and Engineering Behind the Trend', Karimli and Webster have been researching the implementation of nanotechnology in aeronautics and astronautics, in jet engines, fuels, spacecraft, AI and sustainability.

After over a year of extensive research, they've managed to publish their collaborative work, titled 'Development of Nanotechnology for Manned and Unmanned Aircraft: Perspectives on Jet Engines, Fuels, Spacecraft, AI, and Sustainability' in the Advanced Nanoparticles Journal in the Scientific Research Publishing (SCIRP) and in the London Journal of Engineering Research in the Great Britain Journal Press in November 2025.
