Carrie Nordlund

Biography

Carrie received her B.A. from Gustavus Adolphus College and her A.M. and Ph.D. from Brown University in Political Science. Prior to coming to Brown, Carrie held faculty positions at Dickinson College, Lake Forest College and NYU Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service. At NYU Wagner Carrie directed the graduate (policy non-profit track) and undergraduate public policy major. Carrie returned to Brown to direct the Master of Public Affairs (MPA) program in 2016. During her time with the MPA she oversaw various programmatic aspects including admissions and recruitment, the global policy experience and student affairs. Carrie's current role at the division will be to manage the undergraduate winter and summer sessions. Carrie is co-host with Mark Blyth of the "Mark and Carrie" podcast, which covers economics, politics and everything in between. In addition, her research interests include voting behavior and the U.S. Census.
