Katie received her B.A. in English from Belhaven University and her M.A. in English from Middlebury College, in addition to a certificate in instructional design from Georgetown University. Prior to coming to Brown, she lived in South Carolina, where she was a faculty member at Greenville Technical College. In that role, she served as a lead instructor organizing first-year writing courses and championed the implementation of a first-year common read. Throughout her career in education, her students have included middle schoolers, high school students in early college programs, first- and second-year college students, adult learners, and English language learners of all ages. In her role with Brown Pre-College, Katie oversees humanities courses and supports all online courses. She is delighted that we offer such an engaging slate of learning opportunities to our capable and enthusiastic students.
